The Red and The Hidden Language is a progressive, alternative, electronic band that does not confine itself to any single genre. Their music evolves in the moment, a reflection of creativity and curiosity. Their debut album, Verdandi, takes listeners on a journey from the first note to the edge of sound, capturing two friends’ vision of change during the journey towards the inevitable.

The band is a musical duo based in Copenhagen, Denmark, made up of the Swedish artists Pelle Ljungberg and Fredrik Lindgren. Pelle’s captivating voice and guitar blend seamlessly with Fredrik’s intricate electronic rhythmic soundscapes. Together they weave their individual journeys into small, compact compositions, each a musical gem that carries stories, influences, and experiences.

The journey behind Verdandi began fifteen years ago on an empty beach north of Barcelona when the first song was written. Over the years, travels from Morocco to India brought more experiences and songs. In the summer of 2025, the two friends met again in Copenhagen. Songs were gathered and refined, and finally, Verdandi was complete.

The album draws inspiration from the Norns of Norse mythology. Skuld represents the inevitable, what we carry into the future. Urd reflects the past, the witness of memory and experience. Verdandi, the album’s namesake, embodies the present, the becoming, the red thread that binds everything together. It captures the unfolding of events in the moment and the beauty of life as it happens.
