Siyoza Shines with Debut EP "The Light I Couldn’t Hold"
Siyolise-Ntsikomzi Nkanyiso Mqoboli, known professionally as Siyoza, is a South African singer and songwriter from Johannesburg. His understated but heartfelt vocals and grounded perspective have made him known for a moody and introspective sound that highlights vulnerability.
While studying economic sciences at North-West University, Siyoza released his debut EP, The Light I Couldn’t Hold, in December 2025. The EP debuted at number 1 on the national iTunes R&B Album Chart and reached number 10 on the All Genre Music Chart, establishing him as a rising voice in South African R&B. He was also named the Afrobeats Radar Artist by Cosoro Radio UK for January 2026.
The Light I Couldn’t Hold explores vulnerability, emotional survival and resilience. Through quiet but honest vocals and reflective songwriting, Siyoza gives listeners a very personal experience. He explains that the EP is about learning when to stop giving too much, being the bigger person, and owning your truth by letting your heart guide you without letting it stop you.
