MICAH Unveils Heartfelt Single “Cry”
Tipperary-born artist and songwriter Micah continues to carve out a distinctive space in the alt-pop landscape with her latest single, Cry. Known for crafting cinematic, emotionally charged music, Micah blends raw vulnerability with anthemic energy, creating songs that feel both intimate and arena-ready.
Micah first emerged as a bold new voice with her debut EP, Villain (2024), which earned multiple “Track of the Week” features across Irish radio and a sold-out headline show at Whelan’s, which sold out five days in advance. Since then, she has performed at Long Stock, DL Summer Fest, and numerous UK and Irish festival dates, solidifying her reputation for emotionally resonant live performances.
In 2025, she released X’s, which was named 2FM’s Track of the Week, followed by Cry, both of which set the stage for her highly anticipated debut album, due spring 2026. The forthcoming project promises to explore themes of depression, loss, resilience, love, and belonging, reflecting Micah’s commitment to honest storytelling.
Featured as Hot Press Magazine’s “Hot for 2025”, Micah draws influence from the likes of Evanescence, Fletcher, and Avril Lavigne, merging raw emotion with modern pop confidence. Each release showcases her growth as an artist and her desire to forge a deep connection with her audience.
Cry is a powerful, heartfelt rock ballad. Its soaring vocals and emotive guitar work strike a balance between raw emotional intensity and anthemic rock instrumentation, creating a track that feels both personal and expansive. The single touches on love, loyalty, survival, connection, and healing, making it a cathartic listen for fans of Avril Lavigne, Evanescence, Dermot Kennedy, Phoebe Bridgers, Sam Fender, and Paramore. Its mood is gritty yet hopeful, delivering sincerity and emotional release in equal measure.
With Cry, Micah reaffirms her position as a rising force in alt-pop, a songwriter unafraid to confront vulnerability head-on while crafting songs that linger long after the final note.
