Ania Unleashes Her Independent Spirit with ‘Power Plays’
Ania is a Warsaw-raised singer-songwriter whose sultry, earthy voice and magnetic presence have captivated audiences worldwide, drawing inevitable comparisons to icons such as Adele and Amy Winehouse. Blending blues, soul, and electronic elements into a sound that is both elegant and raw, Ania’s music explores themes of vulnerability, resilience, and self-discovery with unflinching honesty.
Signed to Ten Millimeter Omega Recordings at just 18, she burst onto the scene with her debut album And the Light Comes In in 2016. The critically acclaimed collection showcased her distinctive vocal timbre and introspective songwriting, establishing her as a remarkable talent to watch.
After a deliberate hiatus to prioritise her mental health, Ania returned as an independent artist in late 2024, channeling her experiences into a prolific wave of releases. She opened this new chapter with the EP Secrets in December 2024, followed by a trio of self-produced singles, Blue Flame, You’re Gonna End Up in Heaven, and The Taste. Each release built anticipation for her sophomore album, culminating in the full-length Power Plays, released on October 3, 2025.
Power Plays marks Ania’s first entirely self-released project, with the singer taking the reins on much of the production. As an independent force, she maintains a physical distribution agreement with UK-based EastLondon Recordings, ensuring her music reaches fans in tangible formats including vinyl and CD.
The album itself is the sound of freedom. Desire becomes strength and vulnerability transforms into power. Power Plays is about a woman standing alone, radiant and unbroken, embracing her own fire. This is music for those who dare to be sexy, fearless, and free.
Available on CD, vinyl, and deluxe vinyl with a 12-page LP sized booklet, Power Plays offers a fully immersive experience for listeners. Ania’s latest work cements her place as a bold, independent voice in contemporary music, unafraid to explore the depths of emotion while celebrating strength and self-expression.
