Swedish musical polymath Fredrik Norlindh continues to push creative boundaries with his electrifying 2025 single Tell the Police. The track is a kinetic blend of cinematic flair and electronic pop energy, drawing inspiration from artists like Lady Gaga, while hinting at EDM textures and a theatrical undercurrent that makes it equally suited for the dancefloor or the big screen.

Based in Stockholm, Norlindh is a true one-man musical powerhouse: a songwriter, singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans genres and emotions with striking fluidity. Known for his rich melodic sense and detailed production style, his musical influences span from Muse, Coldplay, and Depeche Mode to ABBA, Michael Jackson, and Swedish greats like kent and Per Gessle. Add in songwriting inspirations like Max Martin, John Williams, and Andrew Lloyd Webber, and it’s easy to see how Norlindh crafts music that feels both personal and epic in scale.

Tell the Police stands out not only for its high-octane vibe (Norlindh himself describes it as the track that gets him hyped before a workout) but also for its unusual songwriting structure. “I saw a video by David Bennett Piano about famous two-chord songs, which I saw as an exciting challenge,” he explains. “That’s when Tell the Police came to me.” The result is a masterclass in simplicity and innovation: a two-chord foundation supporting a narrative told in reverse chronology, reminiscent of films like Memento or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

The track forms part of Norlindh’s forthcoming English-language album, slated for release in 2025. This project promises to deliver a collection of melodic, genre-blending singles that further cement his reputation as one of Sweden’s most versatile and visionary artists.

This latest release follows the critically lauded 2024 Swedish-language EP Förstå, Först Då, a monumental undertaking involving nearly 100 musicians, including a full symphony orchestra and collaborations with esteemed names like Erik Arvinder, Martin Landström, and the Stockholm Studio Orchestra. Parallel to this orchestral grandeur, Norlindh also delves into sleek, futuristic territory with electronic tracks like Objectified and HeadRoll / Liberty, produced in collaboration with Behshad Ashnai and Oskar Sandlund.

With Tell the Police, Fredrik Norlindh continues to redefine what it means to be a contemporary pop artist: cinematic, genre-fluid, and unapologetically ambitious.
