Xanthe Finds a Positive Lift in “Lift Me Up”
Xanthe’s “Lift Me Up” is a song about self-belief and female empowerment, built around words intended to stay with the listener long after the music ends. Its affirmations encourage a kinder view of oneself, making it a track to return to when a little reassurance is needed.
The song grew out of three years of travelling solo. During that time, Xanthe used writing to picture and work towards the strongest, most fulfilled version of herself. Those thoughts became the heart of “Lift Me Up”, carried by a funky, soul-infused melody composed by Ivanka Fernando.
Gospel touches and layered harmonies give the track warmth, while its groovy bass line keeps it moving. The combination gives Xanthe’s affirmations room to land without losing the song’s sense of fun. It’s made to be played loudly, whether as a personal boost or shared with others.
Xanthe first performed “Lift Me Up” in late May at Freshly Squeezed Sessions at The Bergy Bandroom in Melbourne. The song caught the audience’s attention, and anticipation continued to build ahead of its release. It arrived in October, bringing a message of self-love and encouragement shaped by Xanthe’s own experiences.
