Aleya Cut Ties with Those Who Take Too Much on ‘Follow Me’

North West alternative metal band Aleya return with ‘Follow Me’, an emotionally charged single built around the difficult decision to walk away from a one-sided relationship.

Released on 21 August 2026, the track is the band’s second release of the year and offers another glimpse of their forthcoming EP, How It Ends. Where some relationships survive through mutual care and respect, ‘Follow Me’ looks at those maintained largely for one person’s benefit. It captures the frustration of recognising that imbalance and finding the strength to finally let go.

Aleya bring that tension to life through a mix of explosive aggression and strong melodic hooks. Hard-hitting drums and weighty guitars drive the song forward, while atmospheric synths give the heavier moments more depth. Intricate breakdowns add to its cathartic pull without overshadowing the melody at its centre.

The result feels forceful but carefully controlled. Each shift between intensity and restraint serves the emotion behind the song, allowing ‘Follow Me’ to land as more than a straightforward heavy track. Its anthemic qualities make the message easy to connect with, particularly for anyone who has felt used or kept around only when convenient.

Produced by Dan Fox at Treehouse Studio in the UK, the single continues to develop Aleya’s genre-blurring sound. Some touches may appeal to listeners of Holding Absence, The Devil Wears Prada, and We Came As Romans, but the band are steadily shaping an identity of their own within the British metal scene.

Aleya are made up of Tom Evans on vocals, Sam Lawson on guitar, Mike Washington on bass and James Wright on drums. Together, the four-piece balances melodic feeling with the kind of heaviness that should translate naturally to the stage.

Further details about the How It Ends EP are due to be revealed as more singles arrive. The band will also support the release with a short UK tour in November, with the full dates still to be announced. Before then, Aleya will join melodic hardcore favourites Downpour at Manchester’s Deaf Institute on 20 September.

‘Follow Me’ is available now across all major digital platforms, accompanied by an official music video that brings another visual dimension to the track’s cathartic message.
