BlackJeans Unleashes Theatrical Chaos With “MONEY BACK”
New York City-based artist BlackJeans closes his debut EP, END OF THE WORLD (Part 1), with “MONEY BACK”, a glam-filled, snarling anthem that captures the unpredictable energy and theatrical spirit at the heart of his self-described “clown pop” universe.
Written by BlackJeans and co-produced alongside Adam Thein, known for his work with Djo, and Aire Atlantica, “MONEY BACK” serves as the explosive final chapter of the six-track project. The track takes aim at those who will say anything to sell a lie, delivering a sharp and playful critique wrapped in dramatic flair, unhinged energy, and tongue-in-cheek humour. With its larger-than-life attitude and rebellious edge, the song perfectly reflects BlackJeans’ ability to turn chaos into celebration.
The track arrives as part of END OF THE WORLD (Part 1), the first instalment in a four-part EP series built around one simple but striking question: if the world is ending, why not throw a party? Across six tracks and just under 13 minutes, BlackJeans creates a vibrant collision of dance-pop, electronic production, punk attitude, cabaret, clowning, and underground nightlife culture.
Rather than simply creating music, BlackJeans builds an entire world. His concept of clownery goes beyond performance, becoming a philosophy centred around embracing individuality, imperfection, and the strange moments that make people unique. Inspired by the historical role of jesters who used humour and spectacle to expose uncomfortable truths, BlackJeans uses absurdity and theatricality as a way to encourage listeners to embrace every side of themselves.
For late bloomers, queer communities, misfits, weirdos, and anyone who has ever felt out of place, his music offers a reminder that vulnerability and self-expression can be powerful. Through exaggerated characters, infectious hooks, and fearless lyricism, BlackJeans transforms personal insecurities into moments of celebration.
The release further establishes BlackJeans as one of New York City’s most exciting underground artists. Previously recognised by Rolling Stone UK as an Artist to Watch and described as “a clown of chaos and Jester of Jubilation”, he has built a growing global audience with more than one million streams across DSPs, a TikTok following exceeding 22,000, and millions of views across viral videos.
Beyond the digital world, BlackJeans has developed a dedicated community through his recurring ‘End of the World’ events in New York City. Featuring performances from BlackJeans and his live band, The Sick Fucks, alongside guest performers, the events blend live music, nightclub energy, performance art, and theatrical spectacle into an experience unlike a traditional concert.
With END OF THE WORLD (Part 1), BlackJeans delivers a project that feels both chaotic and carefully crafted, turning the idea of an apocalypse into a reason to dance. “MONEY BACK” brings the EP to a dramatic close, leaving listeners with a final burst of glamour, attitude, and unapologetic individuality. For BlackJeans, even if the world is falling apart, the party is only just beginning.
