Woo Yerin’s “My Hyacinth” Captures the Warmth of Early Summer in Bloom
Indie singer-songwriter Woo Yerin returns with a new acoustic country-pop track, My Hyacinth. The song reflects imperfect youth offering love with a broken heart, carried by warm acoustic textures, dreamy melodies, and organic band sounds. It creates a bright, carefree atmosphere that feels like riding a bicycle beneath lush green trees in early summer.
After first gaining attention as a Top 6 finalist on K-pop Star 5 in 2015, Woo Yerin gradually developed her own musical identity beyond the competition spotlight. Following her studies in Japan, she made her official debut with the 2021 EP Night. In the years since, she has continued to expand her sound through singles such as Red Rose and Let it Go (Daisy), revealing a brighter and more energetic side while still maintaining her introspective songwriting approach.
The track is arranged by longtime collaborator WOOJAE, who has worked with artists including Okdal and Shin Jihoon. His arrangement shapes the song’s lyrical atmosphere with careful detail, balancing gentle acoustic elements with moments of contrast and lift.
Blues guitarist Ha Heonjin also features on the track, adding emotional depth through expressive guitar lines that weave naturally through the arrangement.
My Hyacinth is well suited to road trips, weekend picnics, and sunny afternoons. It carries the light, refreshing feeling of early summer scenery drifting past a car window, marking another thoughtful step in Woo Yerin’s evolving musical journey.
