Teagan Nolan Returns with Empowering New Single "Just Friends"
Irish pop artist Teagan Nolan is starting the summer with her new single Just Friends, a catchy pop track that mixes strong melodies with a clear message about trust, boundaries and maturity in relationships.
The song explores a familiar situation. A close friendship comes under pressure when one friend enters a new relationship, and what was once seen as innocent is suddenly treated as a threat. Through Just Friends, Teagan focuses on the importance of trust and open communication, while also calling out controlling behaviour that can damage both friendships and romantic relationships.
Teagan delivers the track in her usual confident and playful style, but there is also a sense of honesty and emotional awareness in the writing. At just 16 years old, she continues to show a level of maturity in her songwriting that stands out.
It has been almost two years since Teagan first broke onto the scene at the age of 14. Her early success included spending two weeks on the RTÉ Radio 1 Recommends List and gaining radio play around the world. Since then, she has continued to build momentum, and Just Friends marks another strong step forward in her growing career.
The music video brings extra energy to the release. Choreographed by Chloe May Marks, it features 12 young dancers from across Ireland who join Teagan in a lively performance full of attitude, colour and movement. The result is a fun and energetic visual that matches the feel of the song.
Teagan already has a wide range of experience in entertainment. She has performed alongside artists such as Dermot Kennedy and Sister Sledge, opened the Blanchardstown Fashion Festival, and performed at Garageland events and the National Concert Hall. She has also created content for an American fashion magazine and appeared at Junior Eurovision Ireland in 2022 and 2023.
She is well known for her appearances on The Late Late Toy Show, where she performed as both a singer and dancer. Other credits include five years in the Olympia Panto, appearances in Christmas events for Arnott’s and Taylor’s, three Smyths Toys adverts, and regular performances with Spotlight and Music Generation. Her music is now also being played at major events in venues such as Croke Park.
Behind her music is the Beardfire Music production team, made up of Rohan Healy, Al Quiff and David Virgin. Together they bring decades of industry experience and have worked with artists including Nick Cave, INXS, Cat Power and Billy Bragg. Their work has achieved millions of streams, film and TV placements, and chart success.
With their support, Teagan continues to develop her original music and shape her sound as an artist.
Just Friends shows Teagan Nolan growing in confidence and clarity as a songwriter. It is a lively pop track with a message that many listeners will recognise, and it further establishes her as one of Ireland’s most promising young talents.
