Kenzie Mack Returns with New Single "Angels Out There" and a Genre-Spanning Musical Journey
Kenzie Mack releases her latest single Angels Out There, a track that reflects a long and varied musical journey shaped by resilience, collaboration, and a deep commitment to honest songwriting.
Based on the Isle of Bute, Kenzie Mack is a Scottish singer-songwriter, busker and dog lover who has built her musical identity from the ground up. She is known locally as a friendly neighbourhood busker, often performing acoustic, folk-inspired songs with guitar or piano, and also using backing tracks under the hashtag #isleofbutebusker.
She began her journey into singing, songwriting and musicianship at the age of 28. That period of her life was marked by personal trauma and difficulty, and she has often said that music became what helped her cope and carry on, allowing her to “swim instead of sink.” From that point forward, music became central to how she processed life and expressed herself.
Now aged 48, she has expanded her career in ways she did not originally expect. What started with intimate folk ballads and busking performances has developed into official label releases as well as self-released and collaborative projects. Alongside her acoustic work, she has also released and contributed to tracks in genres such as drum and bass, trance, dance and EDM.
In recent years, she has worked with producers from the UK, Portugal, Turkey, Scotland, Canada and the United States. She describes this period of collaboration as transformative, helping her grow creatively while still staying rooted in her original style.
Her career was also interrupted by a six-year break due to chronic illness and disabilities, which forced her to step away from performing, teaching and running events. Since returning, she has slowly rebuilt her musical life. She is now gigging again, coaching musicianship, and gradually returning to both guitar and piano.
Alongside performing, she has also continued to support other musicians through teaching and online coaching. Music has remained both a coping tool and a creative outlet throughout these years, even during the most difficult periods.
With Angels Out There, Kenzie Mack brings together all parts of her journey so far. The release reflects a more established artistic identity, one that embraces both her acoustic roots and her electronic collaborations.
She describes her current chapter as fully stepping into her “Kenzie Mack” life, continuing forward with new music, new collaborations and a renewed sense of direction as she moves further into 2026 and beyond.
