Skyracer Return With ‘Last Token’ Single
British synth-wave rockers Skyracer have released their new single, ‘Last Token’, on 23rd January 2026.
The Sheffield duo, made up of Dan Fox on vocals and Chris Brayshaw on guitar, are known for blending 90s pop rock with retro synth sounds. They have released eight singles so far and a limited edition cassette of their debut album.
‘Last Token’ is a cinematic, heart-pounding song about choosing love when everything else is falling apart. The track imagines life as a video game, where someone is worth spending the last token on. It mixes neon-lit nostalgia with a sense of urgency, capturing the moment when two people decide to stay together even as the world seems to be ending.
With soaring melodies, pulsing synths and Skyracer’s signature emotional intensity, the song turns apocalyptic imagery into something strangely hopeful. Even in the final moments, connection becomes the ultimate power-up, asking listeners who they would choose to spend their last life on.
The duo continue to build on the momentum of 2025, a year of self-released singles and collaborations with artists such as Sweet Little Machine, House Of Serpents and J.A.H. They also brought their live sound to UK venues, opening for retro synth-rock band LEBROCK. The year ended with the release of a limited edition cassette of their debut album, ‘Skyracer V1.0’, from which ‘Last Token’ is the closing track.
