MARO Reflects and Reigns on “So Much Has Changed”
MARO has released her new album SO MUCH HAS CHANGED, and the title track stands out as a deeply personal highlight. The Lisbon-born indie-pop multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer is one of Portugal’s most distinctive voices, and this record marks a bold new chapter in her career.
Written around the milestone of turning 30, “So Much Has Changed” is a song about reflection, self-acceptance and finding joy after difficulty. Warm, honest and quietly confident, it captures a moment of emotional clarity, rewarding careful listening with a sense of release and hope.
Recognised as an “artist’s artist,” MARO has performed worldwide with Jessie J, ODESZA, Parcels and Shawn Mendes, and collaborated with Eric Clapton and Jacob Collier. She has also appeared on NPR Tiny Desk and Mahogany Sessions. In 2022, she became a Spotify EQUAL ambassador, supporting gender equity in music, and she continues to gain international recognition alongside artists such as Cleo Sol, Hayley Williams and FKA Twigs.
With over 1.3 million monthly Spotify listeners and recent singles like “KISS ME” already making waves globally, MARO’s music blends intimate storytelling with rich indie-pop sounds. The title track of her new album is a perfect example, offering stillness, clarity and joy in the everyday.
MARO will take SO MUCH HAS CHANGED on tour this spring, including a headline show at London’s Roundhouse on 11th March, before visiting countries across Europe and North America.
