Bob Houghton Music: Celebrating Collaboration and Creativity

Bob Houghton, a seasoned musician from Meridian, Idaho, has spent the past three decades exploring his passion for music. His journey began in his early twenties when he started playing bass in cover bands and original groups. Inspired by countless hard rock concerts, he soon felt the urge to write his own songs.

Teaching himself guitar and building a home studio marked the true beginning of his musical journey. Over the years, Bob has refined his songwriting skills and gained invaluable experience by jamming with other talented musicians. He also completed the Recording Connection Bachelor’s Program in audio recording, which helped him take his home recordings to the next level.

Bob’s music is available on all major streaming platforms, as well as Bandcamp, ReverbNation, SoundCloud, and N1M. He is an active member of the International Singer Songwriters Association and the Idaho Songwriters Association, reflecting his connection to both local and international music communities.

After a long career in the auto repair industry as a service advisor and manager, Bob recently retired and is now able to dedicate more time to his true passion. He spends his days writing, recording, and producing music, often creating accompanying music videos. A multi-instrumentalist, Bob records most of his songs solo in his home studio, playing guitar, bass, keys, and drums himself.

His latest EP is a celebration of collaboration. It features six tracks recorded over the past few years, with contributions from talented musicians, mostly from the Boise, Idaho area. Two tracks were created in collaboration with Seagrass, a band from Washington State. These partnerships add a unique blend of sounds and styles to the EP, showing Bob’s versatility as both a songwriter and producer.

With decades of experience, a home studio, and a network of skilled collaborators, Bob Houghton continues to create music that is both personal and engaging. This EP highlights not only his growth as a musician but also the joy he finds in working with others to bring songs to life.
