Baggs Unveils Dreamy New EP 'Sungaze'

Baggs, a 25-year-old Filipino-Singaporean musician, video editor and artist, has released his latest project Sungaze, a carefully crafted EP that celebrates freedom and the joy of being in love. Based in Singapore, Baggs draws on influences from indie pop, bedroom pop, alternative and indie rock to create music that feels both familiar and refreshing.

The EP, released on 31 October 2025, features six tracks: Sungaze, Happy Pill, Cloudy, Rainfall, Esplanade and Snowpierced. Each song captures a different emotional landscape, from quiet reflection to heartfelt release.

The title track Sungaze is a special collaboration between Baggs and fellow musician Tent, whom he met at a Saylah Studios open jam event. Inspired by the anime and Super Sentai opening themes he grew up watching, Baggs describes Sungaze as “the most fun, yet most difficult song I’ve ever worked on” and says he is proud of what they created together.

Tent recalls, “Jet came to me and said, ‘Bro, please help, I need this to feel like anime.’ We set out to tick every anime opening cliché and after about 50 chord changes and fixing harmonies every few minutes, we ended up here. Fun fact: I recorded guitars at the FairPrice supermarket next to Swee Lee.” The song also features additional lead guitars by Anthony and background vocals by Bridgette Bravo, two of their mutual friends.

Beyond music, Baggs is also a video editor and visual artist, giving his projects a strong creative identity. Friends describe him as both thoughtful and playful, occasionally known to surprise them with an impromptu kazoo performance, a reminder that behind his introspective sound lies a good sense of humour.

With Sungaze, Baggs continues to define his own space within the indie scene. The EP feels like sunlight breaking through clouds, gentle, nostalgic and quietly radiant. It reflects an artist creating not for spectacle but for sincerity and joy.
