Baggs and Tent Release Dreamy Collaborative EP 'Sungaze'
Baggs, a 25-year-old Filipino-Singaporean musician, video editor, and artist, has teamed up with fellow musician Tent to release Sungaze, a collaborative EP that celebrates freedom and the joy of being in love. The two became close after meeting at a Saylah Studios open jam event, and their creative chemistry is evident throughout the project.
Based in Singapore, Baggs and Tent draw on indie pop, bedroom pop, alternative, and indie rock influences to create music that feels both familiar and fresh. The EP, released on 31 October 2025, features seven tracks: Sungaze, Happy Pill, Cloudy, Rainfall, Esplanade, and Snowpierced. Each song explores a different mood, from quiet reflection to heartfelt release.
The opening track, Sungaze, was inspired by the anime and Super Sentai opening themes that Baggs grew up with. He has described it as the most enjoyable yet challenging song he has ever worked on and is proud of what they achieved together. Tent recalls, “Jet came to me and said, ‘Bro, please help, I need this to feel like anime.’ We set out to tick every anime opening cliché and, after about 50 chord changes and constant harmony adjustments, we ended up here. Fun fact: I recorded guitars at the FairPrice supermarket next to Swee Lee.”
The EP also features contributions from mutual friends, with additional lead guitars by Anthony and background vocals by Brigette Bravo, adding warmth and depth to the sound.
Beyond music, Baggs works in video editing and visual art, giving his projects a cohesive creative edge. Friends note his playful side, recalling times when he has amused them with a kazoo, showing the fun behind his thoughtful songwriting.
With Sungaze, Baggs and Tent have produced an EP that feels like sunlight breaking through clouds. It is warm, nostalgic, and quietly radiant, a reflection of two artists creating music for joy, connection, and sincerity.
