Spook Muziek Releases New Single 'Big Wow!' And Takes Another Bold Step Forward

Spook Muziek is the project of Sheffield musician and producer Adam Follett. It began as a home for a bundle of stray songs written over several years, but since 2023 it has grown into a fully-fledged live act and recording outlet. Follett is modest about his work, though he admits with a smile that he might be Sheffield’s answer to Alex Turner. What is certain is that he has been steadily carving out one of the most unusual corners of the city’s music scene.

The new single Big Wow! shows Spook Muziek at his sharpest. Written, recorded and produced entirely by Follett, it is a chaotic rush of maximalist dance-punk energy. The track captures him at his most frantic and fearless, throwing together jagged beats, synth bursts and urgent vocals to create something wild and unpredictable.

Following the release of this year’s Pop Culture EP in May 2025, Big Wow! continues to expand the Spook Muziek sound world. It is another glimpse into a project that thrives on energy and invention, and a reminder that Sheffield’s independent scene is still full of surprises.
