Tripendicular Unveils New Single “Stuck”
Tripendicular (pronounced trippin-Dih-Q-lurr), the inventive project of Louisville-based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Todd Groemling (GREMM-ling), has released a striking new single entitled “Stuck”.
Although far from any traditional music capital, Groemling has found his creative home on the Internet, using it as a springboard to collaborate with musicians across the United States and Europe. In the past 18 months alone, he has released 15 songs under the Tripendicular name, with roughly half born of cross-continental collaboration.
One such partnership led to “Stuck”. The track began with Swedish multi-instrumentalist Mikael Lindh, who had originally titled it “Stuck with You”. Groemling saw the potential in the phrase and expanded upon it lyrically, exploring the tension between being “stuck on” someone and being “stuck with” them. It is a duality many find difficult to confront. While Lindh laid the foundation, Groemling brought the song into focus with fresh guitar work, a reshaped arrangement, and layered vocals that push the emotional narrative to the fore.
This spirit of collaboration is not limited to Tripendicular. Groemling is also one half of my infatuation, a relatively new duo with a fellow multi-instrumentalist based in England. Together they have already released three songs this year, further showcasing his drive to explore new sonic ground.
Despite such varied ventures, Groemling resists being pigeonholed. He has coined the term Kaleidoscope to describe his style. It is a deliberately shifting palette that has encompassed rock, indie, semi-acoustic pieces, piano-led compositions, new wave, and club-inspired tracks. What ties them all together is his distinctive voice and unwavering commitment to atmosphere and storytelling.
Equally distinctive are his music videos, which he creates for both YouTube and shorter-form platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Notably, Groemling himself never appears in them. His philosophy is that the songs are not about him; rather, they are intended to act as “your inner movie”, giving listeners space to project their own stories without distraction.
With “Stuck”, Tripendicular once again proves that distance is no barrier to creativity. Whether collaborating with artists across the ocean or exploring new territory on his own, Groemling continues to expand his kaleidoscopic vision, ensuring that each release surprises and engages in equal measure.
