Pockets & TeX Unveil Long-Shelved Single “The Evils”

Brooklyn-based hip-hop duo Pockets & TeX have released one of their most striking tracks to date, The Evils. Produced by PocketsBeats and unearthed from the RX Vault, the single presents a dark, cinematic soundscape underscored by raw storytelling, moral conflict and the unmistakable synergy that has become the duo’s hallmark.

Hailing from Gowanus Houses, Pockets & TeX first crossed paths in the fourth grade, forging a friendship that would later evolve into one of Brooklyn’s most compelling hip-hop partnerships. Affiliated with Driven Minds Ink (DMI), the pair made their official debut in 2020 with the album Legacy, followed in 2021 by Legacy 2. The latter project featured heavyweight collaborators such as KXNG Crooked, Planet Asia, Bigshot and Boro Hall, cementing their reputation within the underground scene.

Their music reflects both the grit and resilience of their upbringing, blending authentic lyricism with sharp production and narrative depth. The Evils exemplifies this approach, pulling listeners into a brooding world where choices, consequences and survival intersect, an echo of the streets that shaped the artists themselves.

Known for their relentless work ethic and ability to translate lived experience into gripping hip-hop narratives, Pockets & TeX continue to expand their catalogue while staying true to their roots. With The Evils now available on all major streaming platforms, the duo further reinforce their position as one of Brooklyn’s essential voices in contemporary hip-hop.
