Gabrielle Andres Unveils New Single “Shape Shift” – An Anthem for the People Pleasers

At just 18 years old, Gabrielle Andres is already carving out a name for herself as one of the most emotionally resonant young voices in music. Based in the picturesque South of France, Gabrielle has been singing for as long as she can remember, but it was only a year ago that she took the leap into releasing her debut single, Love Slayer. That track not only marked her arrival as an artist but also cemented her passion for using music to raise awareness around mental health, helping others feel less alone and offering them tools to cope.

Her latest release, Shape Shift, is perhaps her most personal and striking work to date. The idea had been simmering in her mind for some time, yet it took an ordinary shopping trip with her grandmother to bring it to life. “The words just wouldn’t stop flowing,” Gabrielle recalls, “so I typed them into my phone while walking around the store. I’m honestly surprised I didn’t crash into anything or anyone.”

Once home, she found the music and lyrics came together effortlessly, as if the song were writing itself. The result is a powerful anthem for shape shifters and people pleasers, those who constantly change and adapt themselves to fit the expectations of others. Shape Shift captures the restless, dizzying mental state of always trying to please, until one’s own identity becomes a blur, “just a shape always in movement” that must be maintained.

Ironically, the track stands in sharp contrast to Gabrielle’s previous releases. “It’s like I flipped a switch,” she says, noting that Shape Shift diverges from her usual style in both tone and feel. Originally slated for release in 2026, the song’s significance to Gabrielle led her to push forward and share it with the world far sooner.

For her, Shape Shift is more than just a song. It is her favourite creation yet, one she hopes listeners will connect with deeply. Whether they relate to its themes, find comfort in its message, or simply let it wash over them and allow themselves “to just be” for a few minutes, Gabrielle hopes it offers a moment of release.

With Shape Shift, Gabrielle Andres continues her journey as an artist unafraid to be vulnerable, using her voice not only to tell her own stories but to hold space for others navigating the complexities of identity, self-worth, and belonging.
