For more than twenty years, Peel have quietly established themselves as melodic outsiders within the musical world. Hailing from Oslo, Norway, this alternative rock band has carved their own distinctive path, eschewing fleeting trends and mainstream hype in favour of raw emotional honesty, rich melodies, and atmospheric moods. Despite limited recognition in their homeland, Peel has cultivated a dedicated cult following across Europe, particularly in Germany, the Netherlands, and parts of Eastern and Northern Europe.

From the outset, Peel have stood apart from the crowd. Their self-titled debut album in the early 2000s included standout tracks such as “Natalie Somewhere,” “Breathe,” and “Neverending,” which garnered international airplay and unusual chart success in Norway. Now, on 11 July 2025, Peel returns with their latest single, ‘Modern Age Family Business’, their most personal and socially charged release to date. This track blends alternative rock and indie influences reminiscent of The National, Radiohead, Daughter, and Beach House. Layered synths, acoustic and electric guitars, and a fusion of electronic beats and live drums create a brooding, melodic atmosphere that is at once intimate and expansive.
