The Radio Addicts Release Explosive Debut Single ‘Scroll My Life Away’

The wait is over. The Radio Addicts have officially released their debut single Scroll My Life Away, and it’s already turning heads and cranking up the volume across the indie rock scene.

This young four-piece from Bolton, England, have been building serious momentum over the past year, earning a reputation as one of the most exciting new live bands in the North West. Their brand of indie rock and roll is delivered with the kind of urgency that suggests their very lives depend on it, and now, with Scroll My Life Away out in the world, they’ve got the music to match the hype.

The single is a blistering reflection on the angst and boredom of modern youth, channelling the frustration of hours lost to mobile screens and missed opportunities. It’s a raw, self-aware anthem that balances punchy punk rock with big, melodic choruses. DJs and reviewers have compared the track’s energy to early Buzzcocks and the snarl of The Sex Pistols or a young Liam Gallagher, while others have drawn parallels to the emotional sweep of bands like Embrace or Coldplay.

Frontman Luke has also been earning plaudits for his natural charisma and live presence, with more than one commentator noting the showmanship reminiscent of Robbie Williams. The band’s passion for performance is unmistakable. Whether on a festival stage or in an intimate hometown venue, their energy is contagious, drawing fans back for more every time.

Since forming in spring 2024, The Radio Addicts have made remarkable strides. They have opened the “Glaston-Bury” Festival to queues down the street, headlined two packed shows in Bolton, performed at Nueven Stadium before kick-off and during half-time, and been booked for the main stages at AfterAll and Made In Manchester festivals in 2025. Their merchandise has sold out at shows three times, and they’ve already caught the eye of big names in the industry, including indie heavyweights The Lottery Winners, who invited Luke to join them onstage in March 2025 for a performance of UFO. The band have even been spotted wearing The Radio Addicts merch themselves.

Media coverage has mirrored their live success. February 2025 saw them land their first magazine front cover, while newspapers including the Lancashire Telegraph, The Bury Times, Manchester Evening News, Warrington Guardian, The Oldham Times, Leigh Journal, and The Bolton News have all picked up on their rising profile. Online outlets such as Skiddle and Brit Events have followed suit, and one American radio station liked Scroll My Life Away so much they played it twice in a row and added it to their regular rotation.

There’s plenty more to come. With a second single lined up for September 2025 and their debut vinyl EP set for release in November, complete with a launch party show at Wax and Beans on 30th November, The Radio Addicts are keeping their foot firmly on the gas.

Fresh, hungry and overflowing with energy, The Radio Addicts aren’t just another young band. They’re a full-force movement in the making. And with Scroll My Life Away, they’ve delivered a debut that demands attention.
