Mister Co. Returns in 2025 with 'Can't Stop The Funk' and a Bold Vision

Mister Co., the dynamic duo of Connor and Oscar Absolum, returns in 2025 with a renewed vision, exciting collaborations, and a commitment to building a thriving music community. Based in Melbourne, they continue to push genre boundaries, weaving stories of love, life, and human connection through their unique fusion of funk, soul, and electro-pop.

After a landmark 2024 - including the release of their debut album On This Journey Vol 1, the live album Vol 2, and standout singles Blind & Betrayed and Don’t Talk About It - Mister Co. amassed over 500,000 streams and sold out their headline show at The Night Cat. Their East Coast tour culminated in a triumphant homecoming at The Toff, performing with a spectacular 14-piece band.

Now, with 2025 underway, Mister Co. is back with Can't Stop The Funk, a track that encapsulates their dedication to reviving and modernising funk music. Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like James Brown and Chaka Khan, the song bursts with rhythmic basslines, soulful vocals, and an irresistible groove. With a fresh yet nostalgic sound, Can't Stop The Funk is a testament to their ability to blend classic funk elements with contemporary production, ensuring the genre’s timeless energy lives on.

Beyond their latest single, Mister Co. is launching Homegrown, an EP celebrating Melbourne’s diverse music scene. This five-track collaboration features rising local artists spanning pop, indie rock, soul, and funk. To bring the project to life, they are hosting Homegrown at Howler - a mini-festival at Howler Melbourne, designed as more than just a gig but a true celebration of the city’s creative brilliance.

Their packed 2025 schedule also includes major performances at Geelong’s Festival of Sails, Craigieburn City Council Festival, and Moonee Valley Twilight Festival, where they will share the stage with Australian icons Sneaky Sound System.

Mister Co.’s journey is far from over. With a bold vision for the future, they remain dedicated to uniting people through music - whether through heartfelt songwriting, electrifying live performances, or championing Melbourne’s vibrant homegrown talent. Can't Stop The Funk is just the beginning of what promises to be an exhilarating year.
