Jenshin’s ‘Angel Eyes’: A Heartfelt Exploration of Love and Loss

Singaporean singer-songwriter Jenshin has unveiled his latest single, Angel Eyes, a deeply personal track that showcases his remarkable talent as both a lyricist and multi-instrumentalist. At just 18 years old, the aspiring artist has been carving his own path in the music industry, drawing inspiration from legendary indie folk and rock musicians such as Oasis, The Beatles, and Bon Iver.

From an early age, Jenshin demonstrated a keen musical ability, first picking up the violin at the age of three. Over the last five years, he has dedicated himself to honing his craft, collaborating with various musicians and forming multiple bands along the way. As a self-sufficient artist, he takes pride in writing, arranging, and recording all his music from the comfort of his own bedroom.

Angel Eyes was written in the aftermath of a relationship, serving as an attempt to make sense of the emotions that followed. The song captures the realisation that love is not about winning or losing but rather about the circumstances that shape it. It reflects a raw, unspoken sentiment that words alone could never fully express. Recognising the potential of the track, Jenshin enlisted a few friends to record a string quartet, while fellow local musician Hongjoin co-produced, mixed, and mastered the final piece.

With its emotive lyricism, intricate instrumentation, and heartfelt delivery, Angel Eyes stands as a testament to Jenshin’s artistic growth. As he continues to develop his sound, his music promises to resonate with those who appreciate sincerity and vulnerability in songwriting. This latest release further cements his place as a rising talent in the indie music scene.
