EXCLUSIVE: Listening Party for The Thinkers' New Single, "Hey! Wait!"

The other day, I had the privilege of attending an exclusive listening party for The Thinkers' newest single, Hey! Wait!, which will be released on February 2, 2025. This Manila-based rock duo, consisting of Troy (frontman and songwriter) and Anthony (drummer), has been steadily carving out its space in the music scene since its formation in 2022. Their latest track not only underscores their signature style but also hints at an ambitious future for the band.

The Story Behind The Thinkers

Troy and Anthony may be a relatively new pairing, but their individual journeys in the music industry have been nothing short of impressive. Troy’s roots as a performer date back to his high school days, eventually leading to a 12-year run with his previous band before forming The Thinkers. Anthony, equally seasoned, began his musical career in 2006 and brings a unique flavour to the band, thanks in part to his marching band training in Quezon. Together, they create a simple yet powerful rock sound that evokes nostalgia for 90s bands, while still feeling fresh and relevant.

In just a short time, The Thinkers have already proven their prowess with tracks like Come To Me and Let's Go!, released in 2023, and Coffee Song, released in June 2024. These tracks have gained significant traction despite the absence of major playlist inclusions, proof that talent and authenticity can still shine through.

As the track began playing, the room was immediately filled with energy. The opening bassline set the tone with a catchy rhythm with heads bopping from the first note.
