ZAYN - Rainberry | Song Review
ZAYN is an English singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Bradford, West Yorkshire, ZAYN auditioned as a solo contestant The X Factor UK in 2010. After being eliminated as a solo performer, Zayn was brought back into the competition, along with four other contestants, to form the boy band that would become known as One Direction.
ZAYN later left the group in March 2015 and subsequently signed a solo recording contract with RCA Records. Since then, he has released his debut album 'Mind Of Mine' and a bunch of smashes hit singles such as 'Duck Till Dawn', 'Fingers', 'PILLOWTALK' and many others.
It has been almost two years since ZAYN released his debut solo album. Recently, he has announced the release of his second album 'Icarus Fall', along with a brand new single, 'Rainberry'.
Many of his fans are confused by the name, and what it might mean. There are a few theories on the meaning - one being about a rare flavour of energy/sports drink - but I like how it is a mystery. Obviously, ZAYN will know the meaning behind the song title but until he does an interview about the song, I guess we will have to take up a part-time job of being a detective.
I really like the RnB infused song - I think ZAYN is the only former One Direction member (so far) that has shown true progression in their music. Some may say he had a head start as he left an era before the rest of the band-mates but I still think ZAYN has shown the most progression.
I am really liking the sound of ZAYN's newer songs, especially 'Rainberry'. I think this is my favourite one of what he has released since dropping his solo debut album. I haven't been a big fan of ZAYN beforehand, however, his music is really growing on me and I am actually really excited about his album - which is rumoured to have 27 songs on.
