Alessiah Races Against Time in “bad habit”
Alessiah’s “bad habit” arrived with a music video shaped by pressure, adrenaline and a deadline that left no room for mistakes. What might look like a fast-moving performance visual was actually the result of an ambitious race across the city, with the entire video needing to be filmed, edited and uploaded in a single day.
Four days of rehearsals went into preparing for the shoot, but the team had just one day to capture everything. The plan involved several locations, each bringing a new challenge as the clock continued to count down.
The Virgin Radio sequence was completed on time, while the team reached the airport two minutes late. Although they still managed to capture the shot, it ultimately did not make the finished video. The AFI shopping centre stop went more smoothly, but filming on Victoriei Street was held up by the police.
Rather than slowing the project down, those setbacks add to the story behind “bad habit”. The video carries the restless feeling of a day spent moving between locations, relying on preparation, quick decisions and the energy of everyone involved.
Once filming wrapped, the race continued in the editing room. At 11:50pm, the video was still being completed. By 11:55pm, panic had set in, but the team kept working. The finished link finally went live at 11:59:50pm, leaving just ten seconds before the deadline.
That pressure gave Alessiah little opportunity to second-guess the final result. Instead, the video became a snapshot of dancing, chaos and the support of a crowd helping to carry the performance forward. Its energy feels genuine because it was created in the middle of a real challenge, where every location and every remaining minute mattered.
“bad habit” is accompanied by more than a standard music video. It is the result of careful rehearsals, unpredictable delays and a final edit completed against the clock. Somehow, Alessiah and her team pulled it off with only seconds to spare.
